Associate of Occupational Studies
If you have a love of animals and an interest in animal health, nursing, and husbandry, becoming a veterinary technician could be the career for you. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment of veterinary technologists and technicians is expected to grow much faster than average through 2014.*
Program Objectives
The Associate of Occupational Studies in Veterinary Technology program focuses on the handling and health care management of a variety of species including—though not limited to—cats, dogs, exotics, lab animals, horses, cattle, small ruminants, and birds. The program provides you with both the classroom and clinical experience that you will need to apply for an entry-level position as a veterinary technician. Graduates of the program may be eligible to take the Veterinary Technician National Examination.†
